Hispanic Heritage Month is here, and Houston has plenty of ways to celebrate! From mariachi and Tejano to salsa, folklórico, art, baseball and family fun, there is something happening across the city. We’ve gathered Houston events to help you make your plans. Some are free, some require tickets, and all offer a chance to celebrate our community, culture and traditions.
Fantastic Animals from México: Alebrijes and Nahuales
You have more than one night to enjoy this one! Eight towering Mexican alebrije and nahual sculptures transform Discovery Green into a colorful outdoor art experience throughout Hispanic Heritage Month.

El Grito at Miller Featuring Mariachi Herencia de México
The celebration kicked off with Mexican Independence Day at Miller Outdoor Theatre, including the traditional Grito ceremony and a performance by Mariachi Herencia de México.

Astros Hispanic Heritage Weekend
The Astros bring baseball and Hispanic culture together for a full weekend at Daikin Park. Saturday includes the Hispanic Heritage Street Festival, plus the weekend features special giveaways and recognition of Latino and Hispanic players.
