Tango, samba and strings under the stars! Midnight in Blue: Samba, Strings & Tango brings the music of the Americas to Miller Outdoor Theatre for a free Friday night concert. From the passion of Argentine tango to the rhythms of Brazilian samba, this is a different way to experience Latin American music in Houston.

Tickets & more info: The performance is FREE. Free tickets are required for the covered seating area and become available online at 10 AM on Thursday, October 8. Seating on the hill does not require a ticket.

The program mixes Argentine tango, Brazilian samba and American minimalism in one evening. Featured musicians include pianist Michael Zuraw, cellist Daniel Saenz and clarinetist Ernesto Vega, performing music by composers including Astor Piazzolla, Michael Torke and Aaron Copland. Maestro Marlon Chen conducts.
Houston-based Aperio, Music of the Americas focuses on chamber music and contemporary composers from across the Americas. For this concert, the group brings together sounds from Argentina, Brazil and the United States for a musical trip across the hemisphere.
