Get ready for a night filled with the music, movement and colors of Mexico! México en el Corazón returns to Discovery Green with more than 70 performers taking the stage for a free celebration in the heart of downtown Houston. From ballet folklórico and mariachi to beautiful regional costumes, this is a chance to experience traditions from across Mexico in one evening.

The international touring company brings together dozens of performers for an evening of traditional Mexican dance, ballet folklórico, mariachi, regional dress and Indigenous traditions. The show is presented in partnership with the North American Institute for Mexican Advancement. Houston is the final stop on the organization’s 2026 late-summer tour.

Come early if you want a spot close to the stage. Only the first 1,700 guests can sit on the hill directly in front of the stage. Wristbands will be given out for that area. Additional seating will be available on Jones Lawn, where guests can watch the performance on a large screen.

There’s even more to explore before the show. Flea by Night runs from 6 to 10 PM with Latin food and vendors, plus local makers, artists and small businesses. Discovery Green is also hosting a Small Alebrijes workshop from 5 to 7 PM, giving families another way to enjoy Mexican art and culture before the performance begins.

Disclaimer: While we do our best to ensure all event information is accurate and up-to-date, it’s always a good idea to double-check details with the organization or venue.
