
UH to offer doctorate in Spanish with a Creative Writing concentration
The University of Houston is breaking ground once again with a new Spanish creative writing program. Beginning Fall 2017, UH will offer a doctorate program in Spanish with a Creative Writing concentration. From The Daily Cougar:
UH alumna Cristina Rivera Garza, an award-winning author, created and will lead the program. Rivera Garza has written six novels, three collections of short stories, five collections of poetry and three non-fiction books.
The Daily Cougar also reports that other well-known MFA programs in Spanish creative writing include:
- University of Texas-El Paso,
- New York University, and the
- University of Iowa.
