Take a colorful trip through Mexico through music and dance! Essence of Mexico brings Mixteco Ballet Folklorico to Miller Outdoor Theatre for a special daytime performance created with children and families in mind. The show explores traditions from different regions of Mexico through costumes, music and movement.

The performance takes families on a journey through Mexican culture. Audiences will experience the traditions of Nuevo León, including polka, shotiz and huapangos norteños, before traveling musically to Veracruz for zapateado jarocho and the famous La Bamba.
Colorful regional costumes and traditional dance help bring each part of Mexico to life. It’s a fun way for children to see how music, clothing and dance can tell the stories of different communities and regions.
Because this is a daytime performance designed for young audiences, it could be a great outing for families, homeschool groups and students learning about Mexican culture.
