Audio Pick — “Cable Television: To Cut the Cord or Not to Cut the Cord by Houston Matters, SoundCloud”
Today’s audio pick is a SoundCloud file I found, a Houston Matters interview with Houston Chronicle tech columnist Dwight Silverman about his recent experience in “cutting the cord” of his cable subscription.
I know a lot of people who have made the jump and stopped their cable bill. They have opted for Hulu and Netflix and maybe even Amazon as alternatives.
I still haven’t made the jump myself, though I do have the streaming subscriptions and rarely watch television “live.” When I do watch television, it’s usually through On Demand or the second and third runs of that week’s show.
The truth is that I would miss some of my favorite shows, including the Walking Dead. Can I watch the Walking Deadwithout cable? I guess I may have to figure that out.
And, of course, there’s no way to stream local television… yet.
