Ancestry Mexico launches with free access until November 2, 2015
Family historians rejoice! Ancestry.com has announced that they’ve added records to help Mexicans and Mexican-Americans track down their family histories. This includes “220 million searchable historical records from Mexico, including new birth, marriage, and death records dating back to the 1500s.” That means that you now can begin your search for your bisabuelos and other ancestors from the convenience of your home computer.
The other announcement is that they also have rolled out Ancestry Mexico, a site that provides a Spanish-language experience for access to the new records.
Want to take the records for a test drive? Ancestry is providing free access to the new records from October 28, 2015 until November 2, 2015. After that you’ll have to sign up for a subscription … or find a genealogy library that provides free access to the service as part of their offerings. In Houston check with the Houston Public Library’s Clayton Library Center for Genealogical Research.
