Video Pick: Netflix’s “Club de Cuervos” Trailer (premieres August 7th)
Netflix is coming out with an original series in Spanish: “Club de Cuervos.” It’s their first foray into original programming in Spanish and a move that has been expected for a while as the “network” tries to attrack more Spanish-speaking customers in the US and abroad. Netflix recently began adding more Spanish-language programming, including “El Chapulín Colorado, ” “La Reina del Sur,” and others. They are slowly adding additional offerings relevant to that market, with more original Spanish-language programs expected to roll out later this year.
The description of the show, from IMDB:
“When the patriarch of a prominent family dies, his heirs battle to determine who will gain control of his beloved soccer team: The Cuervos of Nuevo Toledo.”
Based on the trailer alone, I’m going to watch it. It’s set up as a drama with all the bells and whistles of the modern in-the-limelight lifestyle. The 13-episode “Club de Cuervos” will premiere on Friday, August 7, 2015.
Here’s the preview, from Netflix:
