Victor Espinoza rides American Pharoah to first Triple Crown win in 37 years
Jockey Victor Espinoza rode American Pharoah to win the Belmont Stakes race, after winning the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness races, becoming a Triple Crown winner. According to Wikipedia, the last time someone won the Triple Crown was in 1978; that winner was Affirmed. That makes American Pharoah the first Triple crown winner in 37 years and only the 12th winner ever.
