UPDATE — Hugo Ortega is back
Chef Hugo Ortega is back at work after recovering from a bicycle accident earlier this summer. The Houston Press is reporting that Ortega broke two ribs and his clavicle required eight pins. Although he’s still in recovery (ie., the pins are still in), he’s back on the clock working on his next restaurant, Caracol.
Hugo’s is one of my favorite restaurants in Houston, and my favorite place for Sunday brunch. I’m pleased to hear that Ortega has bounced back… er, well, maybe not bounced.
