The search for the new Menudo members starts soon
Without actually telling you my age, I’m going to admit that I was a huge Menudo fan as a teen. I had the posters. I had the albums. I listened for them on the radio. Yes, I even went to see the movies. So I read the news that Telemundo, Menudo Entertainment and Showpitch.com have partnered to create the new Menudo with a little bit of nostalgia.
And if the reference of Menudo as a musical band leaves you baffled, since you only know it as a type of food and not as the boy band of all time … then I give up on you.
How to audition
In an era where we make our up-and-coming singers win their chance at greatness through weekly contests, I am a little surprised that the audition process is a straight “send us your video” entry on a website. Surely, this merits a show of some kind. There will be an online voting process (via social media), with the finalists being picked in a live performance.
Think you have what it takes to be part of the next Latino boy band? Contestants should be male, ages 10-15 years old, and be able to sing and dance. The contest starts July 1, 2015. Submission Rules:
- Create a Showpitch Account
To enter you must have a Showpitch Talent Stage.- Record a 3 minute video
Select your favorite song to sing from our library of songs in the resource section & include:
- Your best vocal performance with choreographed dance moves.
- 30 second message that states why you want to be in Menudo.
- Requirements
Contestants must be male between the ages of 10-15.
