Pedro Martinez inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame
Former starting pitcher Pedro Martinez was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame recently, making him one of the few Hispanics to receive that honor. Born in Manoguayabo, Dominican Republic, Martinez played for several baseball teams, including the Boston Red Sox and the New York Mets.
I’m not a big baseball fan, but this this an achievement worth noting, as a Dominican-American baseball player gets honored for his contributions to America’s favorite pastime.
