Past Rodeos: photos from the 2007 Go Tejano “Boots” exhibit
As we kick off this year’s Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, I’ve been looking at photos from previous years. Here’s one set that I wanted to share. Pictured here is an outdoor exhibit organized on 2007 by the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo’s Go Tejano Committee. The artist was Bonnie Lambourn. I don’t think I ever found out the official name, but I loved visiting the exhibit itself.
About the Go Tejano Committee: “This committee increases awareness of the Show through special functions held throughout the year and targeted toward the Hispanic community. Members’ efforts help create awareness of scholarship availability and help provide funds for college scholarships as well. This committee also assists Show management in researching potential Hispanic entertainers to perform at the Rodeo while celebrating Go Tejano Day annually on the grounds during the Show.”
