Music Video Pick: La Santa Cecilia
If, like me, you’ve missed the “launch” of La Santa Cecilia onto the music scene, let me introduce you. La Santa Cecilia is a Latin alternative band that recently collaborated with Elvis Costello on their newest album. They blend many forms of music, including cumbia, bossa nova, and boleros.
The name of the band, La Santa Cecilia, is based upon the patron saint of musicians, Saint Cecilia. The band includes Gloria Estrada (Guitarist), Jose Carlos (Accordinist and Requinto), Alex Bendana (Bassist), Miguel Ramirez (Percussionist), Hugo Varagas (Drummer), and Marisoul (Lead Singer).
