Celebrate the Year of the Monkey with a special Lunar New Year concert featuring festive Asian orchestral masterpieces. Recently named one of Musical America’s Top 30 Influencers of 2015 and Artistic Director of the 2016 National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra Summer Festival, conductor Mei-Ann Chen will lead the orchestra for this special program. The Houston Symphony also welcomes violinist Jessica Lee as she makes her Houston Symphony debut performing a Sarasate showstopper and the treasured Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto. Describing her recital on the Ravinia Rising Stars series, the Chicago Tribune said: “…Lee’s breathtaking dexterity should enchant anyone within hearing distance.”
