It’s an eclair covered in bacon! Meet Pena’s Donut Heaven & Grill
I’d never heard of a Cronut until I saw a series of articles that were lauding the fact that you could now get one in Pearland. What’s a cronut? It’s a hybrid croissant/doughnut. At Pena’s Donut Heaven & Grill they’re called dosants; even though they’re considered “knock offs” they’re absolutely yummy. You can get them in a variety of flavors, including chocolate-layered, glazed and strawberry. Be aware, however, that you’re going to make a mess. Powdered sugar has that effect.
The winner at Pena’s was the eclair covered in bacon. Wow. It’s the perfect combination of sweet and salty. And, hello!, it’s bacon! If you’re going to make the trek to Pena’s, you have to add this to your order.
Pena’s offers a lot to customers, from the yummy goodness of the sweets, to a menu that offers everything from breakfast tacos to more than a dozen variations of burgers, and even a selection of Tex-Mex dishes. There’s not a lot of room to eat on site, but the food is good and the service is fast.
Pena’s Donut Heaven & Grill is located at 11601 Shadow Creek Pkwy., Pearland, Texas 77584.
