Houston selected as site for Copa América Centenario 2016
The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF), the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) and the Copa América Centenario Local Organizing Committee (LOC) have chosen Houston as one of the 10 U.S. cities to host matches during the historic Copa América Centenario.
The Copa América Centenario, is a celebration of the centenary of CONMEBOL and Copa América, and is to be the first Copa América hosted outside of South America (will be held completely in the U.S.). The other nine cities selected are Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Orlando, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Francisco and Seattle. Each city will host events over a series of days from from June 3-26, 2016.
Just a reminder, Houston is also hosting the NCAA Final Four in 2016, as well as the Super Bowl in 2017.
