Houston City Hall Farmers Market (photos)

Community, General

Have you visited the Houston City Hall Farmer’s Market yet? Working downtown, it’s one of my favorite activities every week. The City Hall Farmers Market features many vendors, including local fresh produce grown by local farmers, cheeses, breads, roasted coffees, and a variety of prepared meals, as well as food trucks. Bring some cash and a sack to carry your finds; trust me, you’ll need it.

The 2014 Spring Market runs every Wednesday, at Houston City Hall, 901 Bagby (downtown, 77002), from 11 am to 1:30 pm. For more information please visit www.greenhoustontx.gov or follow Green Houston TX on Facebook www.facebook.com/greenhoustontx and Twitter www.twitter.com/greenhoustontx.

The City Hall Farmer's Market concentrates on having local vendors... but not all of them are healthy. Pretty sure they weren't actually selling beer.

Vegan baked goods. I haven't tried them, but one of my friends says they're good.

YOU. MUST. TRY. THIS. COFFEE. They have some of the best coffee I've ever tried. And if you knew how much coffee I consume, you'd understand how important a good cup is worth to me.

Of course, you can get some really great, very fresh produce. That's what makes the visit worthwhile, for me.
