
HCC Central Kicks Off Mexican American/Latino Studies Program
Today marks the beginning of the new Mexican American/Latino Studies Program at the Houston Community College (HCC) Central College. HCC Central is the second college – after HCC Southeast – to offer a Mexican-American/ Latino Studies program.
Sean Arce, who co-founded the Mexican-American Studies program in the Tucson, Arizona Unified School District in 1998, will be speaking today at HCC as part of the kick-off.
Schedule for Thursday, June 6, 2013:
- 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Sean Arce at HCC Central Learning Hub 100, 1300 Holman
- 10:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Sean Arce at HCC Willie Lee Gay Hall, Lecture hall 151, 1990 Airport Blvd.
- 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. MAS Charla, meet and greet for HCC Professors and guests, Cultura Latina Houston, 4504 Nett St.
HCC, HCC’s College Activities Board, HCC’s Mexican American Studies and Librotraficante are sponsoring Arce’s lectures.
