Happy Grandparents Day!
Today is Grandparents Day … the day in the US designated to celebrating los abuelitos. Considering all they do for us, maybe we should have a Grandfather’s Day and a Grandmother’s Day. But until then … go out and do something nice for them today!
According to Pew Research Center, 83% of Americans 65 and older say they have grandchildren. In addition, 37% of grandparents serve as the primary caregiver for grandchildren. And, no surprise, grandparents who live with their grandchildren are more racially and ethnically diverse than the overall US population (more than 52% are non-white).
All interesting, and facts that show how the US culture overall is changing. What would you add?
