H-E-B launches first Houston-area curbside pick-up location

Grocer H-E-B now has one Houston-area location offering curbside pick-up service. The Bunker Hill H-E-B, located at 9710 Katy Freeway, Houston TX 77005, launched the new service earlier this month.

The curbside delivery allows customers to select and pay for their groceries online, which H-E-B employees will gather and deliver to shoppers (at the designated curbside) at the appointed date and time.

This first location will serve as a pilot program, allowing H-E-B to fine-tune the service before implementing it in other Houston-area stores. Home delivery of H-E-B groceries is already available (including in Houston) through the third-party Instacart.

This launch comes just a few months after Walmart rolled out a similar service. We should expect to see other grocers trying out something similar in the next year or so.

If you’ve tested any of these services, let us know how you rate them. I haven’t tried them out yet … though I’m thinking about doing just that, for research purposes only.
