Readers of all ages are invited to the Summer Book Sale hosted by Friends of the Houston Public Library. It’s the second in a series of quarterly, community-based events! The public sale begins Thursday, June 11, 2015 and runs through Saturday, June 13, 2015 at the Resurrection Metropolitan Community Church, 2025 West 11th Street, 77008 at the intersection of T. C. Jester and West 11th Street. All money raised at the Book Sale helps support the Houston Public Library, funding library programs, materials, and scholarships. This event will be open to the public.
Find over 22,000 books in ten of the most popular categories, including a “Treasure Hunt” section where you’ll find many gems to add to your collection.
All books in the main sale area are only $2 for paperbacks and $3 for hardbacks. Paperbacks are only $1 and hardbacks are $2 for all current members. Categories include African American/Black Studies, Art and Music, Biography, Cookbooks, Fiction, Science Fiction, Religion/Philosophy, History, How To, Classic Literature, Sports/Entertainment/Health/Fitness, and Texana.
Start your shopping early at the Thursday evening members-only sneak peek! All items will be for sale Thursday evening for current members. New members can easily sign up online prior to the sale or at the door on Thursday, June 11.
