Toddler Tuesday will celebrate Diversity in Action through interactive cultural storytimes and activities hosted by the Houston Public Library. Kids can visit France, China, India, and Mexico without leaving Discovery Green, as we read, sing, and play our way around the world on Tuesday, April 12th, 2016 from 9:30 AM – 1 PM.

9:30 AM Everywhere the Cow Says “Moo!” (English & French)

Visit animals from around the world and learn to speak their language. In English, the duck says, “Quack, quack!” In French, the duck says, “Kwang, kwang!”, but everywhere the cow says… “Moo!” Learn the sounds that animals make and how they’re pronounced in English, Spanish, French, and Japanese.

  • Activity: Animal puppet “Simon Says” game

10:30 AM The Pet Dragon (English & Chinese)

Meet Lin and her pet dragon! When the dragon mysteriously disappears, Lin sets off on a journey to find her best friend…and readers set off on a journey of discovering the fascinating world of Chinese language and culture.

  • Activity: Dragon display & dragon dance throughout the story

11:30 AM Wheels on the Tuk Tuk (English & Arabic)

12:30 PM Round Is a Tortilla (English & Spanish)

Shapes are all around us! Follow us on a shape hunt as we travel through a quaint Mexican town, experiencing the culture and adventure that lies around every turn.

  • Activity: Shape hunt
