Celebrate S’mores Day with a Twist
Hey, fellow chocolate enthusiasts! Guess what? It’s the day we’ve all been waiting for – S’mores Day! Today, let’s dive into the gooey, chocolaty goodness that brings families together, and the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council are adding their own sizzle to the mix!
S’mores Bliss with a Dash of Creativity
August 10th – a day to bond over marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers! But hold onto your tastebuds because the Girl Scouts are making it extra special. They’re cooking up s’mores recipes featuring our favorite Girl Scout cookies. Can you say flavor fiesta?
Get ready for Thin Mints® S’mores with a minty zing, Caramel deLites® S’mores for coconut caramel vibes, and Peanut Butter Patties® S’mores blending peanut butter and marshmallows. It’s not just dessert; it’s a taste of pure joy!
- Thin Mints® S’mores: Substitute the traditional chocolate square with a Thin Mint cookie for a refreshing minty twist.
- Caramel deLites® S’mores: Use the toasted coconut, caramel, and fudge cookie as a replacement for graham crackers in this recipe for maximum flavor.
- Peanut Butter Patties® S’mores: Swap out the chocolate with a Peanut Butter Patty cookie to create a divine peanut butter and marshmallow combination.
Did You Know?
Did you know we can credit them with the first official recipe for a s’more? It was printed in the 1927 Girl Scout guidebook, Tramping and Trailing with the Girl Scouts.
Scout, Bond, Empower
Beyond the deliciousness, the Girl Scouts celebrate teamwork, outdoor fun, and friendship. S’mores Day is the perfect time for families, leaders, and girls to create lasting memories.
Mary Vitek, GSSJC CEO, says, “S’mores Day lets us savor togetherness.” It’s a day to cherish unity and the simple pleasure of a delightful treat.
Join the Fun
As fall approaches, the Girl Scouts invite all girls and families to join their growth and leadership journey. From new skills to community service, it’s a chance to learn, have fun, and make a difference.
Let’s raise our marshmallow sticks high and salute the joy of S’mores Day! Crunchy crackers, melty chocolate, and toasted marshmallows – here’s to celebrating traditions and sisterhood. For more on Girl Scout programs and joining the fiesta, visit gssjc.org.
