CARMEN is a story about love, tragedy and freedom as well as a history of social rejection against independent women. A courageous gypsy woman who preferred to die rather than lose the freedom of determining her own life…

More than fifty dancers and musicians combine their talents to stage the tragic love story of CARMEN. The production showcases original choreography by international award-winners Antonio Granjero, Maria Fernanda Urbaez and Rocio Braggiato, Gypsy Dance Theater, DANMAR’s and Intempo’s professional dance company and the Houston Latin Philharmonic Orchestra. Glenn Garrido will conduct the Flamenco music that will be magically combined with original music by Bizet that will take the audience on a cultural journey to the Andalusia region of Spain during the nineteenth century.
