Every year Pantone picks a color to represent the year. It makes it into the news and then into consumer goods in every store. Re-read that last past, “into consumer goods in every store.” Even if you don’t follow the fashion industry and think that you will not be affected by this color, you’re going to see it everywhere over the next year. And it’s going to affect other colors chosen for clothes, packaging, decor, etc.
So pay attention, this is important.
Pantone explains why they chose these colors:
For the first time Pantone introduces two shades, Rose Quartz and Serenity as the PANTONE Color of the Year 2016. Rose Quartz is a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure. Serenity is weightless and airy, like the expanse of the blue sky above us, bringing feelings of respite and relaxation even in turbulent times.
