MECA is excited to have Chicana playwright and performer Virginia Grise take the stage of the MECA Auditorium with her new play, Your Healing is Killing Me. Based in New York but bred in the barrios of San Antonio, Grise’s work is often told through non-linear narrative forms in the various voices of marginalized communities giving stories historical, political, and/or social depth. Deeply personal, but also deeply political, Grise is making a name for herself and a new generation of Latina/o theater artists. New York-based Emily Mendelsohn, who has worked with artists from Kristina Wong to Katori Hall, directs this premiere performance.
